Red Snow V Finale
Volume II Season I began with a very different world.
With all the God’s dead, society began giving into its selfish whims and desires, turning the planet into a hotbed of criminal activity and violence.
We were introduced to The Slaughterhouse.
The Butcher quite literally pulls Old School Wrestling from the wreckage of the Tap Room and steals the company, taking it to Hell’s Kitchen in New York City.
The very first show (‘Lambs to the Slaugher’) under this new regime begins with the violent murder of long-term favourite, Nightstick.
We were introduced to nearly an entirely new roster of people. The only survivors joining this underground ‘fight club’ from Volume I were Monty Straight and Redwing but neither could make their mark as Banzan wins the LTTS Match to become the new OSW Champion.
Banzan finds himself entangled in a feud with Berkshire Ellison Green and Darby Sorrow, both of which want his Championship. Green tries bury the immortal Sorrow alive, but The Mountain saves him from such a fate.
X, a part-mechanical soldier manages to capture the Slaughterhouse Championship, defeating Mez, Blackveil, Sigil, Veritas and Monty Straight.
We head into Invasion ’19, where by six challengers fight for the Invasion Briefcase and Banzan defends his Championship against Darby Sorrow. Mark Gouldern defeats BEG, Ignatius, Papa Legba, The Judge and Inferus to win Invasion and Darby Sorrow defeats Banzan to become OSW Champion.
The feud between Green and Sorrow continues, with BEG being given a title shot by The Butcher at Drag Em To Hell. It becomes quickly apparent that someone is giving The Butcher instructions to align both men, which is why their paths have crossed. However, Banzan refuses to be ignored and interjects himself violently.
We come to learn that The Butcher’s repurpose of OSW wasn’t of his own making. He was instructed to Miami in August by someone who wanted him to take it.
At Drag Em To Hell, The Butcher is instructed that Berkshire Ellison Green’s financial resources must be used to secure four search locations for archaeological digs. It’s revealed that Darby Sorrow is over 100 years old, being his current age in 1923.
Redwing begins feeling paranoid, receiving strange videos and hearing odd voices.
Meanwhile, Banzan defeats Darby Sorrow and BEG to become a two-time OSW Champion but what shocks us as the show goes off the air is that Sorrow is dragged down into a fiery hole and kidnapped by a Doctor.
As we move towards Ring King 19’, it becomes apparent that Darby Sorrow has been kidnapped by a strange fellow called Doctor Wells who intends to tap into Sorrow’s past with vile and painful chemicals.
It’s revealed that Darby is bisexual and in 1923 was in love with a man called Stephen. Stephen is dying and is hell-bent on finding a cure for Sorrow’s immortality so that he won’t have to live with his death forever.
Back in 1923, Stephen has stumbled upon something major and has found a way to cure Darby’s immortality, but he must leave immediately. He tries to escape with Sorrow, but is captured by men in black robes. He made a deal with dangerous men and they’re now after him.
Redwing meanwhile had continued to lose his mind, engaging in a feud with Veritas.
It’s soon revealed that Darby Sorrow was murdered over and over again in front of Stephen, who refused to give the men in robes what they wanted. Whatever it was, Stephen had hidden it.
The toll of this treatment on Sorrow had become too much to bear. He remembered how Stephen was murdered and dumped in cold blood. Wells though wasn’t willing to let him go until he knew where the item Stephen hid was located.
Meanwhile, Luke Storm, SeeSaw, Junkrat and Sigil prepared for Ring King.
At Ring King ’19, Darby Sorrow broke free of his restraints and murdered Dr. Wells for the punishment he’d put him through. Before that though, he interrogates wells to understand that The Skull Order were responsible. Stephen Henstridge joined their guild, stole their magic and fused it to stone, placing it inside something that became magical – all to save Sorrow from his immortality.
SeeSaw and Luke Storm on the other hand made it to the Ring King Final where by Luke Storm was crowned The Storm King.
And Redwing had finally lost his mind, attacking a fan at ringside in a moment completely out of character for the hero. By the time the show came to a conclusion, Redwing had been convinced that Luke Storm murdered his family as a part of a Hollywood conspiracy.
BEG meanwhile took his opportunity to defeat Banzan and become OSW Champion.
By the end of Lockdown, a unique circumstance in which The Butcher had his roster committed, Imperium had formed. BEG after defeating Sorrow to retain his title, joined forces with Mark Gouldern and Alton Whitlock – despite his differences with the latter.
On the road to a Red Snow V finale, Sigil takes a keen interest in Darby Sorrow whilst Kenny Freeman embarks on a feud with SeeSaw that will forever be remembered. Redwing goes after Luke Storm for revenge, absolutely destroying him during his coronation as King.
Upon finding out that The Butcher was responsible for his torture at the hands of Dr. Wells, Darby Sorrow makes a b-line for him. He’s about to attack when Butcher reveals that Sigil has gone in search of Sorrow’s elderly son.
Meanwhile, strange coming soon vignettes interrupt the show.
Alton Whitlock, still feuding with Berkshire Ellison Green despite being in Imperium, tells Green that he’s finished and at Red Snow, he’s done. He refuses to sell his soul to the devil.
Luke Storm, doing his best to recover from a brutal attack, realizes that his daughter Scarlett Storm has been kidnapped. He rushes to find her on a rooftop, held captive by Redwing.
The final weekly show (‘190’) ends with Sigil attempting to torture Sorrow’s son, convinced that Darby knows where the artefact is hidden.
At Red Snow V, we’re introduced to the Skull Order. The Skull Order protect the universe by cloak and dagger means. The leader of this group, the Red Skull, tasks a member called Flavo with ensuring that if the artefact is found, it is appropriately used.
BEG lays out a deal for Alton Whitlock that see’s him become President of the United States in 2021 – all he has to do is lay down, let him retain his Championship and remain with Imperium.
The Toybox is seen for the first time with Kenny Freeman battling SeeSaw within. Unfortunately for Freeman, his loss becomes the end of his life. SeeSaw not only beats him but turns him into a toy for his collection – The Freeman Blaster.
Luke Storm attempts to save his daughter, but Redwing tosses her off a building. Fortunately for him she lands safely in a dumpster below. Storm defeats Redwing only to find Edward Newton of all people waiting with Scarlett below. They have history and Newton warns that he’s here to make Luke Storm’s life miserable – Redwing, now called The Red Death, will be his tormentor in his endeavour.
After a gruelling match in which Alton Whitlock gets a measure of revenge against Berkshire Ellison Green, The Politician does the unthinkable and lays down to let BEG pin him – he joins Imperium and accepts Green’s offer.
Sigil explains that the reason he’s searching for the item Stephen Henstridge stole is power. He and Butcher claim that with the world in disarray, this item could be used for the greater good. Sorrow agrees to take them to it, but with conditions. Sorrow and Sigil fight with Sigil coming out on top, forcing Sorrow to the item.
As Red Snow V goes off the air, Sorrow reveals a dusty Pocket Watch. This Timepiece was the item Stephen built and inside it is an untold source of power. Sigil presses the buttons and after a green glow emits, he realizes that time had stopped.
That’s when Flavo introduced himself. Flavo told Sigil that he’d found The Time Crystal and that he belonged to the Skull Order. Everyone else was stopped in time but it didn’t affect Flavo, who could move freely within it. Stephen planned to go back in time to when Darby Sorrow became immortal and stop it, but never got the chance.
Sigil wasn’t receptive to aligning with Flavo, forcing Flavo to do the unthinkable and remove everything from reality, taking Sigil to Inanis – The Empty.
He says that until they can resolve this, nothing will exist but The Empty and Sigil within it.
