LUX BELLATOR
WILDERNESS
[Lux Bellator kneels in prayer in the cold wilderness. The Chapel he once called his Sanctuary stands on a hill before him, now engulfed in darkness.]
“Lord.
Earnestly I seek thee. By trials placed before me, I find myself in the wilderness.
Alone.
Broken.
But I rejoice for that wilderness, for such is your salvation. ‘For Blessed are those which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake.’
Enduring the wilderness is key to being welcomed into the kingdom of heaven. Moses endured his wilderness, wandering the desert for forty years before his people found their promised land. David endured his wilderness in the desert of Judah.
And I find myself in my own wilderness, shining your torch into an all-consuming darkness.
A darkness so powerful that it threatens to overwhelm the light I shine in your name. I feel it, suffocating me. Choking me, even now as I call out to you.”
“Padre de Venganza conducts that darkness as a plague of vermin that has infested the Temple of OSW. I stood at Wrestle Heroes, as a beacon of light against that infection, unwilling to bend towards his will. Unwilling to let his infestation consume everything before it.
I stood against the darkness and it tried to snuff out my light.
For no matter how hard one fights against the wilderness, it is inevitable. Such trials are necessary. For the light can only shine brightly where there is darkness to shine in.
A lamp is ineffective in a room flooded with daylight.”
[He casts his eyes up towards the Chapel on the hill.]
“What once was hallowed ground now stands desecrated. Infected by the darkness that I swore to vanquish. The Family have infested its holy ground and their darkness has spread upon those halls as vermin.
This chapel once stood as a light shining upon a hill until that darkness swallowed it, claiming it as their own. But it is nothing new.
My order have stood by and watched countless men like Venganza spread their filth against you, Lord. The charismatic, those determined to chase out darkness by spreading more darkness. Their power always feels inevitable, but hatred cannot drive out hatred; darkness cannot drive out darkness.
Only light may do that.
All darkness cowers before your light, for a mere speck of flame can infiltrate that blanket of black.
I come not to turn the darkness into light, I come to vanquish. To find my way out of this wilderness by blinding the darkness into submission.
Padre de Venganza speaks of freedom in surrender, but only because this is how his power is spread. Through weakness, through fear. Through those too cowardly to stand against the darkness and shine brightly.”
[He stands.]
“I walk the path into the valley of death, and fear no evil.
I come to free those held captive by the darkness, the Lightbringer. The freer of the captive.
At Turbo Violence, darkness finds out what happens when day breaks. This chapel, once infected, will be cleansed by the refiner’s fire.
Lumen accipe.
At Turbo Violence, we see what happens when darkness receives the light.”
“Amen.”
