Volume I, Season VI

On Showcase:

In the aftermath of Pandemonium, changes are afoot. The Showcase Championship changes hands as Ethan Earhart defeats Doubt. Other newcomers like Sherriff Law, Cael Gable, and Captain Zappa begin to make names for themselves on Monday Night Showcase, while old names move from VHS and begin to mix the explosive potion OSW is known for.

Speaking of Earhart, his title win is short-lived as he has another newcomer to deal with in Edward Newton, who is beginning his amazing run here. Newton steals possession of the title, and takes formal possession of it with a win at Over Kill.

Former World Champion Mike Lane mourns the death of Destiny while also dealing with Errol Flint, who says he’ll seek custody of Michaela. On top of that, Smiley is not done with the Shadow, lighting Stately Lane Manor on fire to help Flint’s case. Doubt reunites with Smiley to reform Knock Knock, burying Mike Lane. Smiley cranks the tension up as he instigates Lane to assault him in a lawyer’s office, leading to the arrest of the 4 time Champ. Lane agrees to a Loser Leaves OSW match, and is defeated by Smiley at Over Kill. The Shadow fades into the darkness, enduring no longer.

After announcing his intent to break the seven seals protecting an ancient book, Lux Bellator targets Neville Sheldon and Double Feature Champion The Sharkman. The Light Warrior sees them as false prophets that must be destroyed. They square off in a triple threat at Over Kill with the Double Feature strap on the line, but Bellator’s Championship victory was not the story. Lux pours the first bowl of God’s wrath out on Neville, covering him with sores across his body. Sheldon would never be full-time in OSW again.

Bruce Van Chan, dealing with heart problems, seeks a way to continue his career. He spits in the face of death (or Muerte) itself, taking pills to restore functionality, but they have some nasty side effects. At Over Kill, BVC is defeated by Muerte, but with the help of his wife leaves as the last man standing.

Brent Kersh begins receiving strange letters. After defeating Cody Greer at Over Kill, a mysterious masked man attacks him. It’s quickly revealed that Newton is behind the mask, and he is coming for Kersh’s career. The Riddler kidnaps Danielle Kersh and makes it clear that the Enforcer’s career ends at Ring of Dreams. But Kersh outsmarts Newton, rescues his daughter, and takes it the Riddler. Yet it comes as no surprise that Newton retains his Championship and defeats the Enforcer continuing his domination.

Following the pouring of his first bowl, Lux Bellator breaks the second seal, targeting The Sharkman once more, seeing him as starving beast made hungry. He turns Sharky into his great sword to be wielded, a beast who devours all who come. But Sharkman is saved by a mysterious hooded man, who is quickly revealed as Lux’s father Pedro El Salvador, thought dead from the Holy War fought months before. Sharkman emerges victorious at Ring of Dreams, winning the Double Feature Championship. But Lux pours the second bowl, turning Sharkman’s former sewer home into a river of blood.

On the MNS side of the Sweet Dreams match, BVC and Muerte qualify as a team before Muerte is killed by Smiley, who has also qualified. Lux Bellator qualifies as well, but is occupied in other places. BVC takes on Smiley with the reckless abandon of a man who has nothing to lose. More on Sweet Dreams in the VHS section!

Doubt, who has spent many months intending to deny Viktor North entry to Valhalla, finally finds it is weak to the great spear Gungir. North defeats Doubt at Ring of Dreams, but the emotion escaped before death could be granted him.

Cael Gable and Sherriff Law find moderate success teaming as SHOOT, but after winning #1 Contendership to the Tag Team titles at Ring of Dreams, they find themselves assaulted by Knock Knock. The next week, at Double Tap, Knock Knock defeat SHOOT. After the match, Sherriff Law turns on Cael Gable, igniting their memorable feud.

Coming out of Ring of Dreams, Bruce Van Chan finds out that his heart condition was man-made. The truth is that Edward Newton had been manipulating him from afar. Newton gives BVC the option to fight or die, with consequences if he fights. Of course, Bruce chooses to fight. Newton bankrupts BVC’s mother and buys the house. When Bruce tries to stop the demolition of the home, Newton gets him arrested and gives him back the deed. The Riddler grants Bruce a match at Death Wish, but only if Bruce puts his career on the line. Newton defeats Bruce, taking his career, and reveals an alliance with Hysteria and No Face called Injustice.

Moving over from VHS, we meet Sergei Sokolov, whose foe Piotor Svetolav kills Sergei’s former commanding officer. Piotor challenges Sokolov for Death Wish inside a steel cell match, where Sergei defeats the metal armed foe. But his thought-lost General Dzagoev appears at the end of the match, tearing the Russian Bear’s life apart.

Solomon Rhodes, fresh off a loss in the main event of Ring of Dreams to Tommy Hawk, announces the Three Wishes match for Death Wish. DTR, Jensen Cussen, and Ethan Bird make up the other competitors in the match. With tensions running high in The Family, Solomon Rhodes is able to win the Three Wishes match, gaining a title shot that he uses to win the VHS Championship from Makena Jakande several weeks later.

After losing at Double Tap, newcomers to MNS Captain Zappa and Calypso have issues, with Calypso’s followers decimating the alien Zappa.

After winning Double Tap, the team of Brent Kersh and King Royal have issues as they both go after the Double Feature Championship held by the Sharkman. Despite the Tag Team Champions gunning for him, Sharkman is able to retain the Championship at Death Wish.

After putting his hands on an officer, Cael Gable is put behind bars by Sherriff Law, but is bailed out in time to defeat Law at Death Wish, putting Law behind bars for false imprisonment and corruption. This one won’t be over, stay tuned.

As the brand split era comes to an end, Bruce and Paige Van Chan are kidnapped from a mysterious figure in a white van as they leaves the Tap Room and BVC’s career behind.

On VHS:

On the VHS side, Season 6 started off with trouble for OSW World Champion Tommy Hawk as he learns that King Royal has purchased his people’s land from Frank Harrison. After Royal burned down much of his tribal village, Hawk dueled him at No Exit to not only retain the OSW Championship, but also gain control of his lands once more.

Elsewhere, Solomon Rhodes learned that his Temple had not been burned down by Lux Bellator, but by the returning Desmond Cross. The former World Champion defeated the Dragon at No Exit, but Rhodes used his newfound fire powers to escape further damage.

Declaring himself as a god, Ethan Bird promises to write a new book of Genesis. He sets his sights on the Scarecrow, revealing that the Hayman is under the control of Mother by virtue of the perch built by Henry Kersh.

Speaking of Mother, the Rewind Champion takes issue with Calypso, who has caused her children to question her power. Mother entices a young girl named Cortney, a leper, to her cause. Despite that victory, Mother’s impressive Championship reign ends at No Exit to Calypso.

Mother is then confronted by none other than Ethan Bird. She reveals that she still has part of the perch, and control over Scarecrow. Despite this, Bird defeats the Hayman for the VHS Championship. The god ends up beaten down afterwards as Scarecrow reveals that the perch means nothing, showing a renewed alliance with Mother as Genesis.

After having been put in the hospital at Pandemonium, Jake Jeckel breaks out with his sights set on finding out the truth about his brother Jack Jeckel and the Virus. At No Exit, Ethan Bird reveals that he paid off Jack to attack Jake, and turns the Juggalo over to the police for faking his own death. Naturally, Jack turns against Bird as a result.

The Family continues their battle with Jacob Phoenix, who seeks to free his love Stephanie Cussen from the grasp of DTR. But even after defeating each of the Family one by one, including Stephanie’s father Jensen Cussen at No Exit, Stephanie becomes more committed to her betrothed, DTR.

Meanwhile, Sergei Sokolov learns from Mr. X that his superior, General Alexi Petrov, intends to kill him. Shooting the messenger, Sergei decimates Mr. X at Ring of Dreams but is assaulted by Piotor Svetolav, who reveals that Petrov is a traitor, and he has been sent by Mother Russia to destroy them all.

Leading up to Ring of Dreams, Tommy Hawk learns to embrace the Thunderbird and become a War Chief. This empowers him to become the Savage and defeat the fire spirit, Solomon Rhodes, he foresaw. This was also the debut of Rhodes fully becoming the Dragon and showing the ability to manipulate fire.

On the VHS side of the Sweet Dreams match, Genesis and King Royal qualify. As a matter of showing their threat is real, Scarecrow rips out one of Queen Raquel’s eye. It works, as Scarecrow emerges victorious during Ring of Dreams, earning a shot at the OSW World Championship.

Also at Ring of Dreams, Jacob Phoenix defeats both DTR and Jensen Cussen, who had become VHS Champion earlier, in a triple threat to win the title. His victory is bittersweet, as DTR reveals that Stephanie is carrying his child.

Elsewhere, Errol Flint comes to VHS to reveal he paid off Ethan Bird to NOT send Jake Jeckel to jail. Having broken the deal, Flint enlists Jack Jeckel to destroy Bird. He fails at this, with Bird emerging victorious at Ring of Dreams. But more importantly, Flint kidnaps Jack Jeckel to execute him for his failure. But before he can pull the trigger of his gun, an unknown assailant shoots Errol Flint.

The inaugural Double Tap is won by Wrestling Royalty, the team consisting of Brent Kersh and King Royal. They defeated Genesis to win the OSW Tag Team Championships. Also at Double Tap, we learn that The Chief has sent Betamax to follow Errol Flint, but Betamax has no idea who killed the former chairman. The show ends with the mysterious Lyra Starchild making her way to Earth, searching for a specific individual. This ends up being newcomer Captain Zappa.

Lux Bellator, now on VHS, continues his mission to break the seal’s and pour the bowls of wrath. This time, for the third seal, his target is Desmond Cross. Cross finds help in a surprising place, as Pedro El Salvador, thought dead, returns to OSW to begin a shadow-war against his son. Despite El Salvador’s help, Lux defeats him at Bad Moon Rising, and pours the third bowl of God’s wrath, using it to functionally turn Cross to stone via hardening his blood.

Broken by the revelation Stephanie is carrying DTR’s seed, Jacob Phoenix finds himself attempting to free Mother’s children from her grasp. She taunts him with his failure to save Stephanie, and defeats him to win the VHS Championship at Bad Moon Rising.

During Sweet Dreams at Ring of Dreams, we saw the return of Hysteria, who cost Smiley a shot at the win. The former Asylum brothers began a brutal war, with Hysteria burning down the Blackwater Asylum. An enraged Smiley defeats Hysteria at Bad Moon Rising, winning the Rewind Championship in the process. But an assault from No Face on Smiley causes Doubt to save his partner.

World Champion Tommy Hawk has a vision of Scarecrow murdering his tribe. He takes the fight to the Hayman, journeying deep into the spirit world to find out the truth behind his foe. Scarecrow brings the Champion to The Void, the place where spirits killed by Scarecrow reside. Hawk liberates those spirits, but falls to the Scarecrow, losing the OSW World Championship. The pair are summoned to the valley where Lux Bellator appears, having captured the thought-liberated spirits and breaking the fourth seal.

Back Together Again:

The combined VHS Era kicks off with the revelation that Bruce Van Chan was going to be assassinated by Edward Newton at Death Wish. Using an ancient rune, Bruce morphs into Dr. Sleep, who only cares about destroying Newton. He uses the same car bomb used on him on Newton, but the conflict within Sleep/Bruce is too much. Newton allows Bruce back in the ring at Invasion, where he defeats Sleep. Newton intends to end Bruce Van Chan, but the surprising return of Mike Lane saves BVC from certain doom.

Lane is revealed to have used the ancient rune that Van Chan did to gain power. It’s revealed he set Hysteria free to kill Smiley, that he made BVC become Dr. Sleep. He becomes Shadow.

After revealing his power at the end of Bad Moon Rising, Lux Bellator sets his sights on the fourth seal via going after new World Champion the Scarecrow and Tommy Hawk. Crow mocks Bellator for bringing back El Salvador from death, while Pedro comes to Hawk, searching for the man who will be able to defeat his son. Hawk looks into the fires, revealing that he is not Pedro’s champion. Pedro meets this mysterious champion, a hooded man, and they view the war together. At Invasion, Scarecrow retains the title over his enemies.

But Lux Bellator is not done, pouring the fourth bowl of God’s wrath, turning the Red Void into the place of God’s final wrath. He also takes the field they fought on and turns it into the place where the final battle will be fought. All under the watchful gaze of the hooded man.

The Family sets their eyes on the Tag Team Championships, but an unsure Jensen Cussen kidnaps Brent Kersh to show him how his wife and unborn child defeated the Virus. Kersh lets him know she’ll have to be good to do so. When DTR attacks Nicole Kersh (and their unborn child), Kersh reveals Jensen’s deception. Despite this tension, the Family defeats Wrestling Royal to win the Tag Team Championship at Invasion.

Jacob Phoenix, who had been attempting to liberate Mother’s children, is kidnapped by Jensen. The Family has Cussen slit the throat of Phoenix, using his pure blood (mixed with Jensen’s) to keep Stephanie alive long enough to give birth to DTR’s spawn.

The new Rewind Champion Hysteria is still being pursued by his former brother Smiley, who intends to make him relieve the deaths of his family. Smiley reveals that the spirits of Eva, Grace, and Jessica Harrison are able to touch the living now. But it backfires as Hysteria willingly takes them in, even taking in the power of Ozric Mortimer, calling himself the New Nightmare, and wielding Ozric’s barbed wire baseball bat. But the illusion is shattered when Smiley reveals that, even if Ozric is the one that actually did it, LH Harrison intended for his family to die. Harrison was the mask. Hysteria is the real person underneath. Empowered by anger, Hysteria defeats Smiley to win the Rewind title at Invasion.

Captain Zappa is pulled up to the starship of the Zeta, who have made him their Chosen One. Lyra Starchild intends to destroy him to sever the tie between the Zeta and Earth. Her people’s army lays in wait to decimate Earth. They fight at Invasion, but the war never kicks off. Lyra beams him up to sever the connection Zappa has to the Zeta.

Sergei Sokolov runs for his life, with the help of his former General, from the silent killer Piotor Svetolav. Svetolav kills Sergei’s mother to draw him out. At Invasion, Piotor reveals that the General was his father. Sergei goes to war with the silent killer, drowning him underwater.

At Invasion, Mother is entombed by a mysterious foe.

We also learn that Bobby Neptune was captured one year ago, with something to do with the space war brewing. He finds himself in the middle of the struggle between Lyra Starchild and the Zeta.

The Chief, trying to cover up the death of Errol Flint, receives news that the Tap Room is not a mere bar, but a temple. It’s meant to house the war between good and evil. He holds the keys to that war. Betamax and the Chief try to uncover the answer to this mystery, confronting Jake Jeckel in jail, but the Juggalo refuses to reveal anything. They visit a psychic, who reveals that something evil is coming at Red Snow. The Chief’s destiny was to choose, but what he had to choose had yet to be revealed. But he must fire.

The Invasion match is a killer, with Cael Gable, Brent Kersh, Sergei Sokolov, Solomon Rhodes, Captain Zappa, and Lux Bellator waging war for the briefcase. Bellator, empowered by the fourth bowl, takes the briefcase and guaranteed World title match.

Coming out of Invasion, Edward Newton goes to war with The Scarecrow. They wage a massive war against one another, but in the end Edward Newton defeats the Hayman at Enter the Badlands to becomes the World Champion, setting off his legendary reign. They would face off several weeks later in the House of Horrors at Genesis: The Origin of Evil as well, with Crow killing No Face, yet still falling victim to the Riddler’s undefeated streak.

Having dealt with assaults from associates of Sherriff Law, Cael Gable cannot escape his specter. It comes to a boiling point when a biker rolls up and takes a point blank shot at Gable, who is saved by The Sharkman. Law uses his leverage to manipulate Gable from jail before breaking out and going after Cael’s parents.

After winning the Tag Team Championships, Brent Kersh and Lux Bellator immediately come to conflict as Bellator uses his control over the dead to show Brent his dead son Trevor. A conversation with Pedro El Salvador reveals that Bellator intends to use the Kersh family killed by Scarecrow as generals in his army of the dead. Kersh defeats Bellator at Enter the Badlands, but Lux’s plan marches forward as he sees the birth of Kersh’s child in the fifth bowl.

Trevor once again visits Brent, revealing that Lux believes Brent Kersh’s child is the chosen child that will bring the end. Lux defeats Brent at Genesis: The Origin of Evil, and the hooded man and Pedro El Salvador watch as the bowl is poured just as Brent rushes to the hospital where his child (who will become known as Tank eventually) is born. Lux Bellator gains his army from the bowl, an army of the dead. El Salvador decrees that the hooded man is the Ghost that must fight. But the hooded man says one more champion must rise against Bellator first.

Brent Kersh, however, never makes it to the hospital, being kidnapped by a mysterious figure.

Meanwhile, Solomon Rhodes is confronted by Captain Zappa who intends to merge the VHS and All-Star Championship to have one less Championship during the Zeta invasion. At Genesis: The Origin of Evil, Zappa defeats Rhodes to unify the belts.

After teaming with Solomon Rhodes to face Knock Knock, Tommy Hawk glimpses an evil voice in the fire, who speaks of his end. At Genesis: The Origin of Evil, he is assaulted and killed by Mother. She believes he’d entombed her, but it’s quickly revealed that it was actually the Scarecrow.

Injustice burns Bruce Van Chan’s home to the ground, but the Shadow tells him to endure it, to control the power within. They face off at Genesis: The Origin of Evil in a fatal four way with No Face and Hysteria where Mike Lane wins the Rewind Championship. But Bruce cannot handle the way he’s becoming Dr. Sleep, so he drives his car into the water, killing himself.

Stephanie Cussen, who is dying, calls out for “him” who is revealed to be her husband, Max Million. The renewed Family sets their sights on destroying the former members of the Asylum, who all unite to fight the Family. At Ring King, however, Smiley turns on his former brothers to become Lee Crowley once more and join the Family.

With Ring King on the horizon, we see a gigantic 32 man tournament, with names such as King Royal and Marvolo returning to take part. In the end, the tournament is won by Lee Crowley, now the Mad King, who defeats the Scarecrow in the finals.

Newcomers also arrive, including Ordell Terminus, who makes a challenge to Hades for a match that will decide who controls the Underworld. They battle for the key to the gates where Hades emerges victorious, but Terminus uses the power of Janus to seal the gates. They fight over the key to unlock it, but it was all a trap by Lee Crowley, who becomes King of the Underworld by the end of Red Snow, using his power to resurrect Bruce Van Chan.

To find out what he knows, the Chief frees Jake Jeckel from jail. Jeckel attempts to form an alliance with Calypso, asking for her army to fight what’s coming. She refuses, and he burns her compound to the ground. They fight at Ring King, but when the Family attacks them after, it solidifies them as allies.

The mysterious figure who kidnapped Brent Kersh is revealed to be Edward Newton, who intends to retire the Enforcer. Newton even goes after Kersh’s child, making a paranoid man even more shaken. That was the Riddler’s plan, to weaken Kersh for their match at Ring King, a plan which works as Newton wins and retains his World title. The Scarecrow arrives to reveal that Newton and Nicole concocted the plan to get Kersh to retire. Newton’s night gets even worse as his car is blown up by his Injustice colleague Hysteria, who has his eyes set on the World title.

Sherriff Law takes things to the next level in his feud with Cael Gable as he enlists the services of Adam Eve, who attempts to kill the Olympian’s parents. Gable defeats Eve at Ring King, and sets his sights on Sherriff Law, who kills Adam Eve. They face off in the prison at Red Snow, where Gable ends his brutal fight with Law. The inmates there have their way with Law as Gable leaves a free man.

Bobby Neptune is forced to choose to help the Zeta or help Lyra Starchild’s people. Captain Zappa reveals that Lyra Starchild is the one who kidnapped and tortured him a year prior. Neptune kills Starchild, but she reveals that the Zeta were his captors. Zappa lied to Neptune to eliminate his enemy! The Zeta are eventually revealed to actually be the Valerian people, who manipulated Zappa as well. Zappa destroys their ship at Red Snow, and lets the forces of good know that the Valerian’s intend to harvest Earth at the conclusion of the coming great war.

Lux Bellator targets Captain Zappa next, who has seen a vision of the coming end. Bellator believes the Zeta army is the one his dead army will face in Holy War. They engage in a brutal war, but in the end, it’s not the Zeta that Bellator should fear. As he pours the sixth bowl, darkness engulfs everything. But the hooded man finally shows himself. Fire restores light to the world as Solomon Rhodes is revealed as the one Lux Bellator must face, as it had been from the beginning.

The Scarecrow intends to destroy Mother, as he now knows the truth. But Mother reveals her true nature is far more sinister than previously thought. She created the Scarecrow, and is the mother of all evil. Crow visits Brent Kersh, to implore him to save Mike Lane from the darkness controlling him. Brent works tirelessly to do so, and at Red Snow, the Founding Fathers agree to stand together against the coming evil.

At Ring King, the person sending The Chief the letters comes forward. The shadowy figure reveals his people killed Errol Flint, to prevent him from taking OSW over. All they request is a match at Red Snow, which becomes known to be Solomon Rhodes vs. Lux Bellator.

Speaking of which, holy war breaks out once more. Father, Son, and Ghost face one another. Solomon reveals he was raised from the dead to face Lux Bellator, as the darkness to his light. His fire destroys Bellator’s army. His powers will guide him to victory. Pedro El Salvador is revealed to be Solomon’s former ward, who broke free of his vows to have a child. Lux. El Salvador kills himself upon revealing that he has discovered the truth coming at Red Snow.

Mother’s past is shown, her being a pristine woman who entered the void after her children died. The world wasn’t fully formed, so she took the option to embrace the darkness and make all evil her children.

Jake Jeckel and Calypso kidnap Stephanie Cussen, but are unable to hold her. They go to war with the Family, knowing it could be their end. Calypso is infected, but Jake brings back his brother Jack, but they can’t stop the Family at Red Snow. Calypso dies, and Jake Jeckel seemingly transforms into a new man, one determined to stop the coming evil.

In the World title picture, Hysteria attempts to end Edward Newton, but the Riddler ends up winning at Red Snow, but not before revealing Hysteria has been manipulated by Mother. Hysteria is killed later that night by Mother, who was behind Ozric Mortimer.

At Red Snow, the truth is revealed to the coming end.

The mysterious forces working with The Chief are shown to be the Templar Knights. Godfrey is their leader, and he reveals their commander is Solomon Rhodes, unbeknownst to him. Rhodes mysterious past was as a Templar Knight, and once his memories are returned to him, he learns there is a Templar Temple beneath the Tap Room, full of an army ready to fight.

Mother is the one who manipulated Lux Bellator to break the seals and pour the bowls. She is the genesis of the Virus that mutated the Family. Everything leads to this night.

When Solomon Rhodes fails to stop Lux Bellator, the final bowl powered by the stolen power of the Dragon. In that moment, Stephanie Cussen begins to give birth to a baby boy. She dies as she does so, but the Chief finally comes face to face with his moment to choose.

Does he kill the baby?

A vision takes him, revealing the destruction of all who would fight this boy. He stands before Lux Bellator, who reveals the bowls all were meant to empower this child.

Noah.

The Family. Lux Bellator. Mother. They are the ark of Noah.

The Chief falls into a coma, failing to stop this from happening.

The apocalypse has come.
