Reckless Endangerment

In Promo, The Burned Man by Blaze

“I knew a man that let his son to roam around freely throughout the different levels of Arcadia.”

“The boy was an adolescent at the time and demanded more independence from his family. His father was more than happy to oblige.”

“Claiming that he loved his son, he allowed him to walk through every tier of Arcadia without supervision. This included the more dangerous tiers.”

“Since the kid was wandering off by his lonesome, he would often find himself in danger with some shady characters. Without his dad to help, he would get injured and crawl back to his old man in need of medical attention.”

“Did that get the boy’s father to do anything about his son’s exploring? Maybe prohibit him from travelling alone or teach him some basic combat techniques at the very least?”

“Nope. His dad was a careless man who shrugged off these injuries as a part of his offspring growing up. He did nothing to ensure any further survival of his child.”

“Eventually, his child found himself in more danger with some unsavory folks of Arcadia’s lower levels. Only this time, the injuries he sustained would end up killing the boy.”

“Much like the injuries sustained to Colt just might be the death of the poor dog.”

“You’re like a father to the mutt, aren’t you Drewitt? Wherever that canine goes, you’re not that far behind.”

“He followed you through every level of Arcadia, from the lushest villages to the bleakest of slums. Nowhere was off limits when it came to what you and him would explore.”

“Even if there should’ve been limits put in place.”

“You and him met some shady characters during your journeys through the tiers, like O’Toole and Drexl. Not only did they manipulate you and make attempts on your life, they also endangered your faithful companion in the process.”

“It was your duty to the Canine Help-Ranger In Service to keep him safe from any and all danger, yet you failed to do so on multiple occasions. Once in the graveyard when looking for ambrosia and more recently during the four way standoff.”

“That standoff resulted in your poor pooch getting caught in the crossfire. He took a bullet in his backside due to your hair trigger temper.”

“And when Doom offered his assistance in healing Colt, you turned him down, possibly opening death’s door for the pooch while you walked out without a scratch.”

“You claim to love this dog like your own son? If you truly did love that pup, you would’ve kept him in the safer levels of Arcadia, away from the shady characters and firefights.”

“Instead, you recklessly bring him along for the ride and endanger his life, as if you don’t care if he lives or dies.”

“I can’t forgive someone who cares so little about the life of their faithful companion. Come Monday, you’re about to suffer the same pain Colt went through.”

“If you find the pain too hot to handle, then you never should have stepped into the fire.”
