Mutts

In Promo, Stubbins Doom by DOOM

“Have you ever purchased something that once arrived, wasn’t quite what it seemed when you placed the order?”

“I once purchased a dog from a reputable breeder.”

A little poodle.

“When I picked my pup in the store and paid my credits, the pup I selected was a beautiful little thing; all sunshine and rainbows. She was playful and loving. There was kindness in her eyes that I wouldn’t soon forget. You’d have thought her a free spirit, a candle in the wind.”

“But when my puppy arrived, I didn’t receive the girl I purchased.”

“What I received was a hound of darkness; a defiant, angry, snippy little creature that urinated wherever she chose and defecated at will. The puppy I had in my possession was not the loving animal that I saw at the breeder. It was a vile little thing that was nothing like what I wanted or paid for.”

“It would be a fair assessment to say that the two animals were night and day.”

“I returned the beast back to the breeder, who offered to replace her with a different pup.”

“It seems I’ve once again ordered a dog, does it not?”

“And this time, I have absolutely no idea which I’m getting. Will I get the Gemini that has a kind heart and soul, who is honest, loving, kind and cares? Is it the Gemini that people have reported to be a decent human being, who lives her life freely but with responsibility and care?”

“Or will I get the Gemini that is horrible, turgid, and dark? Will I get the Gemini that’ll happily urinate all over the ring and defecate at will? Is the woman I’ll be standing opposite a terrible human being with a dark core, who wishes nothing but evil, violence and destruction across all measures of her being and soul?”

“One of these two mutts will show up next week at Clash.”

“I have no idea which one, nor does it matter.”

“Because you see, my experience with the breeder was that poor, that when offered a new pup to abate my discontent, I refused. You see, they had already burnt their bridges with me. There was nothing they could offer that would’ve provided me with satisfaction.”

“They had proven themselves unreliable and untrustworthy.”

“And that I simply could not abide.”

“When I destroyed that breeder and all their pups, I felt that I was doing a service for Arcadia – one that prevented such torrid events from happening again and again.”

“This week at Clash, mutts – I’m afraid the outcome will be the same. I don’t care whether I get the dog who wants to give me a hug, or the dog who wants to urinate on my trousers. Your personality matters not, because what needs to be done is what should’ve been done with your parents.”

“The only outcome is Stubbins Doom being responsible enough to put you down.”

“So that Arcadia may never have to concern itself with either of you again.”
